Busy production shop specializing in micro abrasive sandblasting equipment and services is looking for a CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer to join their team in Glendale.

Summary: The CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer will be responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling equipment to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, quality-focused, and capable of taking a job from programming and setup through final inspection.

Responsibilities:

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines for production runs and one-off components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and machining specifications.
  • Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code and/or CAM software.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, workholding, speeds, and feeds for various materials and applications.
  • Set tool offsets, work coordinates, and machine parameters.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring equipment.
  • Make program and offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and setup issues.
  • Optimize machining processes to improve cycle times, tool life, and overall efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company quality standards.
  • Work closely with engineering and production personnel to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Mill Machinist and/or CNC Programmer.
  • Strong understanding of CNC milling operations and machining principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T.
  • Proficiency with G-code and CNC program editing.
  • Experience with CAM programming is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to set up and operate CNC mills independently.
  • Strong knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, speeds, feeds, and machining practices.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a production team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience machining small or precision components.
  • Experience with tight-tolerance machining.
  • Experience working with a variety of metals and engineering materials.
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC milling.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
  • Experience in a production manufacturing environment.
