Heavy Equipment Mechanic South Louisiana - D208
 
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Traveling Mechanic to join a local construction company. In this role, you will travel to various job sites to inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and construction machinery. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically skilled, and able to work independently in the field.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel equipment issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on heavy equipment.
  • Travel to local job sites to complete service and repair work.
  • Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and according to company standards.
  • Keep service vehicle, tools, and work area clean and organized.
Requirements: 
  • Previous experience repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, or diesel machinery.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel to local job sites as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in outdoor environments.
  • Must be dependable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious.
