Machine Setup Technician

1st shift: Monday to Thursday, 6am - 4:30pm

We are seeking a mechanically inclined Machine Setup Technician for a manufacturing opportunity in the Elkhart area.

This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience setting up production equipment, changing tooling or dies, making mechanical adjustments, and troubleshooting setup-related issues. Candidates do not need experience with the exact equipment being used if they have strong transferable machine-setup skills and are willing to learn.

Responsibilities

Set up and adjust production machinery for scheduled jobs
Install and adjust tooling, applicators, dies, and machine components
Perform tooling changes, die changes, and equipment changeovers
Troubleshoot mechanical setup issues and make necessary adjustments
Read and follow work instructions and basic production specifications
Use calipers, micrometers, and similar measuring tools
Enter or select basic machine settings using computer controls
Verify setup accuracy and part quality before production begins
Follow lockout/tagout and machine safety procedures
Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications

Previous machine setup, tooling change, die change, or production equipment experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability
Ability to install and adjust tooling, applicators, or dies
Ability to read work instructions and basic specifications
Experience using calipers, micrometers, or similar measuring tools
Basic computer skills
Strong attention to detail and quality
Familiarity with lockout/tagout and machine safety
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work around production machinery

Preferred Experience

Experience with wire processing, crimping presses, or molding equipment is preferred but not required.
