Express Employment Professionals in Allen TX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for the design and test of all aspects of mechanical equipment and machinery related to industrial baking equipment.

 

Essential Functions:
• Provide mechanical machine design including, but not limited to sizing and selecting all
mechanical components, completing bills of materials (BOMs), and maintain up-to-date
maintenance and technical documentation (manuals).
• Designs products such as bakery machines, instruments, controls, or robots.
• Works with a design team to create design sketches, layouts, and plans.
• Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed
drawings of the product.
• Produces specifications for products and chooses raw materials and components to be
used in production.
• Builds models and prototypes of the product and tests the design.
• Studies the test data and makes comparisons with similar designs.
• Develops control systems and monitors production.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Five years of related experience preferred.
• Computer literate. Knowledgeable with Project Management and MS Office software.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Specific operating knowledge of Bread, Roll, Cake, and Pie Bakeries.
• Excellent communication and written skills.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills’ ability to work cross functionally to
drive business solutions.

Essential Skills:
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
• Proficient with computer-assisted design (CAD) software (i.e. AutoCAD, inventor or
equivalent).
• Experience with equipment and plant layout design.
• Experience with pneumatic system design and documentation.
• Experience with conveyor system design and layouts preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

 

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the candidate is required regularly to talk and hear. Frequently required to use hands, fingers, handle or feel objects, tools and controls. Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to access and inspect all areas of machinery. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
