Position Summary:
The Senior Industrial Designer will play a critical role within the Sales Applications Engineering
team by developing compelling sales concepts and visualizations for full-line processing
solutions. This position focuses on translating customer requirements into innovative,
technically sound design concepts for large-scale processing systems. The successful candidate
will leverage advanced 3D parametric modeling, simulation, animation, and rendering
capabilities to create persuasive visual and technical proposals that support sales efforts,
demonstrate system functionality, and highlight value to prospective clients in industrial
markets.

 

Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Sales Applications Engineering team to develop conceptual designs
and full-line solution proposals for large processing systems based on customer
specifications and project requirements.
• Create detailed 3D parametric models using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor to
represent complete processing lines, including equipment integration, layout
optimization, and system-level configurations.
• Perform simulations (structural, kinematic, thermal, or fluid flow) to validate design
feasibility, performance estimates, and risk mitigation within sales proposals.
• Develop dynamic animations and motion studies that clearly illustrate system operation,
material flow, assembly sequences, maintenance access, and overall workflow for client
presentations.
• Produce high-quality, photorealistic renderings and visualization packages to
communicate design intent, aesthetic appeal, ergonomic considerations, and
environmental integration in sales materials and proposals.
• Support pre-sales activities by preparing technical illustrations, 3D walkthroughs, and
interactive visuals that strengthen sales proposals and facilitate client discussions.
• Work closely with sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure design
concepts align with company capabilities, cost targets, manufacturing processes, and
delivery timelines.
• Participate in customer meetings and presentations, effectively communicating complex
design concepts and technical advantages through visual and verbal means.
• Maintain accurate design documentation, configuration management, and version
control to support proposal development and handoff to project execution teams.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a
closely related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in industrial design, with a demonstrated
portfolio in large-scale processing systems, heavy machinery, or integrated production
lines.
• Expert-level proficiency in 3D parametric modeling using **either SolidWorks or
Autodesk Inventor**, including advanced assembly management, configuration tools,
and design automation for complex systems.
• Hands-on experience with simulation tools (e.g., SOLIDWORKS Simulation or equivalent),
animation and motion analysis, and high-end rendering software (PhotoView 360,
KeyShot, Emulate 3D, or similar).
• Strong understanding of large processing system design principles, including equipment
layout, material handling, safety integration, and manufacturability considerations.
• Proven ability to develop sales-oriented concepts that balance technical accuracy with
visual impact and commercial appeal.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the capacity to engage both
technical and non-technical stakeholders during sales processes.
• Proficiency in complementary tools such as AutoCAD, PLM systems, and basic project
management software.

 

Preferred Skills:
• Prior experience working in a Sales Applications Engineering or pre-sales technical
support environment.
• Background in regulated industries such as food & beverage processing, chemical,
pharmaceutical, or bulk material handling systems.
• Knowledge of generative design tools, virtual reality (VR) visualizations, or interactive 3D
client presentation platforms.
• Familiarity with proposal development processes and customer-facing technical
documentation
