Order Picker - 1st shift

Express Employment Professionals – Baltimore is seeking a dependable and hardworking Yard Associate to join our client’s team at a busy lumber yard in the Baltimore area. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, good attention to detail, and the ability to safely handle lumber and building materials in an outdoor yard environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $18 per hour

Schedule

• Monday – Friday, 7am-4pm
• Overtime and/or Saturdays as needed

Responsibilities

• Load and unload lumber, building materials, and other products
• Pull and stage customer orders accurately
• Organize lumber and building materials throughout the yard
• Assist customers with locating and loading materials
• Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment after proper training
• Inspect materials for damage and report issues to management
• Assist with receiving incoming shipments
• Maintain accurate inventory and assist with cycle counts
• Keep the yard, loading areas, and equipment clean and organized
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Work closely with warehouse, sales, and delivery teams to ensure orders are prepared accurately and on time
• Perform other general yard duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous lumber yard, warehouse, construction, or material-handling experience preferred
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliable and dependable attendance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying
• Ability to safely handle lumber and other building materials
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in hot, cold, and wet conditions
• Ability to safely maneuver around heavy equipment, lumber stacks, and loading areas
