Chemical Operator – $24.18/hr | Temp-to-Hire

 

Express Employment Professionals is hiring five Chemical Operators for an established chemical manufacturing facility in Gainesville, Florida.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to begin or advance a career in chemical manufacturing. Chemical Operators will learn chemical-processing and material-handling procedures, operate production equipment, and complete multiple job certifications.

 

Pay

$24.18 per hour to start

All 12 hours are paid, including the lunch period.

 

Schedule

This position follows a rotating 12-hour, 2-2-3 schedule:

• Day shift: 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
• Night shift: 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.
• Employees rotate between day and night shift approximately every 90 days.

 

Week One:
• Work Monday and Tuesday
• Off Wednesday and Thursday
• Work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

 

Week Two:
• Off Monday and Tuesday
• Work Wednesday and Thursday
• Off Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

 

Candidates must be able to work both day and night shifts, including every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures, standard operating procedures, batch sheets, and supervisor instructions
• Set up, operate, monitor, and clean chemical-processing equipment
• Handle, weigh, sample, label, and transport chemical materials safely
• Complete production and process documentation accurately
• Enter information using computer-based production systems
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble process filters and equipment
• Operate valves, switches, regulators, and heating and cooling systems as trained
• Move full 55-gallon drums safely on and off pallets
• Transport cylinders and manually load 25-kilogram bags into processing equipment
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Complete required training and job certifications
• Work cooperatively with supervisors and other production employees

 

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to rotate between day and night shifts every 90 days
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and every other weekend
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to climb multiple steps throughout the shift
• Ability to pass required medical clearance and wear a full-face respirator
• Basic computer proficiency
• Ability to read and follow detailed written procedures
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and accurate documentation
• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous chemical, industrial, or manufacturing experience
• Forklift experience
• Experience using computerized production or inventory systems

 

Important Schedule Requirement
