Collections Manager
The Collector is responsible for the collection of revenue from coins and card-operated washers and dryers while ensuring the maximum security of company assets. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and proficiency in using computers. The Collector also assists the Collections Manager with scheduling collections based on priority and maintaining key control. Additionally, the Collector performs duties related to revenue collection, security of assets, and adherence to company policies.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform all duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.
• Follow a scheduled collection route and ensure timely monthly collections.
• Check out and return collection route keys daily, ensuring proper documentation.
• Strictly adhere to all company policies regarding collection procedures.
• Maintain the assigned collection route without deviation unless authorized by a
supervisor.
• Ensure that safe padlocks are always engaged while money is in the vehicle's safe.
• Never leave money in the passenger compartment of an unattended vehicle.
• Keep money either in possession or in a safe at all times.
• Avoid displaying money, keys, or collection documents in public or in vehicles.
• Use toolboxes to conceal and transport money bags from laundry rooms to vehicles.
• Keep collection keys either in possession or stored in the collection toolbox while
engaged in collection activities. Keys should never be left out in the open (e.g., on
machines, tables, etc.).
• Maintain possession of money while in laundry rooms, and position oneself between the
money and doorways for added security.
• Do not use collection funds for refunds or change; petty cash should be used for such
purposes.
• Perform on-site counting of collection funds only with prior approval from the Branch
Manager.
• Maintain an accurate bag inventory list, recording the number, color, and other required
information for each collection bag.
Would be driving to Eastern Kentucky, Lexington and Louisville
Accurately record counter readings on provided counter cards for all machines equipped
with counters.
• Prioritize safety in all duties; bypass locations that do not appear safe (e.g., suspicious
persons present) and return later when conditions are safer.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Basic mechanical, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills.
• The discipline to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills, including email and internet use, and the ability to navigate
collection software.
• The physical ability to lift bags of coins weighing up to 75 pounds and the stamina to
walk, stand, or sit for extended periods (up to a 10-hour shift).
• Frequent physical demands, including lifting, walking, bending, twisting, reaching,
squatting, and driving.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least one year of field experience in the laundry business or related experience in
electrical or mechanical work is preferred.
