Pay: $20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM

A local manufacturer in the Elkhart area is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Welder to join its 1st shift fabrication team.

This position will primarily focus on MIG welding sheet metal components from blueprints and fabrication drawings. Some TIG welding may also be performed depending on the project. We are looking for someone who can accurately read a print, fit and align components, and produce clean, consistent welds.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on sheet metal components and assemblies
• Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
• Fit, align, and position parts prior to welding
• Weld components according to dimensions and specifications
• Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy
• Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and part placement
• Grind, clean, and finish welded components as needed
• Perform occasional TIG welding
• Use standard welding, fabrication, hand, and power tools
• Follow established safety and quality procedures

Qualifications

• Previous MIG welding experience
• Ability to read and work from blueprints
• Previous sheet metal welding or fabrication experience preferred
• Ability to fit and align components before welding
• TIG welding experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and weld quality
• Dependable attendance and work history
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fabrication team
