Tooling Design Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Pay: (DOE)

We’re seeking a hands-on Tooling Design Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer with experience designing tooling, fixtures, gages, and manufacturing equipment.
What You’ll Do
- Specify machines, tooling, fixtures, gages, and automation needed to support manufacturing and process engineering solutions.
- Design and develop new tooling, fixtures, gages, equipment, and manufacturing aids.
- Improve, modify, and automate existing tooling and equipment to increase safety, quality, efficiency, and throughput.
- Create and maintain CAD drawings, BOMs, setup sheets, Work Bench Instructions (WBIs), and operating procedures.
- Coordinate the fabrication and manufacture of new tooling and equipment.
- Plan and support equipment trials, runoffs, qualification, and validation, including FAT/SAT when applicable.
- Confirm equipment capability, safety, reliability, and throughput before releasing equipment to production.
- Troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues and provide technical support to manufacturing operations.
- Partner with Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Maintenance, and Quality to successfully integrate new equipment and processes.
- Work with EH&S to help ensure equipment and tool meet applicable OSHA, NFPA, EPA, environmental, and workplace safety requirements.
- Train operators and technicians on new tooling, equipment, and documented work instructions.
- Assist with capital equipment specifications, vendor selection, machine-builder coordination, and supplier qualification.
What We’re Looking For
- 2–4 years of tooling design experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Foundational CAD design and 3D modeling skills for simple parts and assemblies.
- Experience or familiarity with tooling, fixtures, gages, and manufacturing equipment.
- Basic understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- General knowledge of DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing / Design for Assembly) principles.
- Ability to read and create technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering, production, maintenance, quality, and safety functions.
