MIG Welder

Pay: $19.00–$21.00/hour, depending on experience

Schedule: 1st Shift / Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

 

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Welder to join a manufacturing/fabrication team. This position is responsible for fitting, welding, and assembling metal components according to specifications and blueprints while maintaining quality and safety standards.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform welding on metal components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Set up and operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment.
  • Fit, position, align, clamp, tack-weld, grind, and secure parts before final welding.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints, measurements, and specifications.
  • Use measuring tools such as tape measures, rulers, squares, and calipers.
  • Inspect completed parts and welds for defects and conformance to specifications.
  • Monitor welding and fitting processes to minimize warping, distortion, or damage to materials.
  • Safely operate common hand and power tools used in metal fabrication, including grinders.
  • Identify defective materials or equipment and report concerns appropriately.
  • Follow all established safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
  • Perform routine quality inspections.
  • Maintain an organized work area and complete other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous welding or metal fabrication experience preferred.
  • MIG/GMAW welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and use basic measuring tools.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools used in a fabrication environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good time-management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to learn and ask questions when clarification is needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, reach, maneuver, and position materials as required.
  • Ability to safely lift and handle materials associated with the position.
  • Comfortable working in an industrial/manufacturing environment
