Janitor

Pay: $17.00/hour

Full-Time Position

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Custodian/Janitor for a local school. We are looking for a dependable individual who can follow directions, work well with others, and take pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors throughout the facility
• Operate floor care equipment and perform floor waxing
• Empty trash and dispose of waste properly
• Assist with general maintenance and custodial duties
• Complete a variety of tasks as needed around the school

Qualifications

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred
• Floor waxing experience required
• Ability to operate heavy floor-cleaning equipment safely
• Reliable, consistent, and easy to work with
• Ability to follow directions and work independently
• Must comply with the school's no smoking on school premises policy

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and moving throughout the facility

Schedule

Summer Hours

• Monday-Thursday: 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Friday: 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM
• Flexibility required

School Year Hours

• 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Additional Requirements

• Must pass a background check
• Background screening will include review of crimes against children and violent offenses
