About the Job

Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a well-established custom manufacturing company located in Tumwater, WA, to fill a Casework Engineer role. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a technical engineering, architectural, or commercial construction background who enjoys taking detailed plans and turning them into accurate, production-ready solutions.

While previous casework engineering experience is a plus, it is not required. We are also interested in candidates with relevant experience in architectural, mechanical, manufacturing, millwork, or other engineering and design environments involving commercial projects, detailed plans, fabrication, or installation.

This position is available as an Evaluation-to-Hire opportunity, with Direct Hire also available for experienced engineers depending on background and qualifications. The position offers a consistent full-time day shift schedule Monday through Friday. Compensation starts at $27.00-$32.00/hr depending on experience, with a full benefits package upon hire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engineer complete production and installation packets using AutoCAD and Microvellum
• Interpret architectural plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and project compliance
• Translate project drawings and specifications into detailed, production-ready documentation
• Create detailed documentation to support fabrication and field installation
• Coordinate with drafting, project management, and production teams throughout projects
• Utilize Bluebeam for drawing review, markups, and project coordination
• Maintain organized engineering files and project documentation
• Review work thoroughly for constructability, accuracy, and compliance
• Support project changes, revisions, and ongoing documentation needs

What You Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Proficiency in AutoCAD required
• Previous casework engineering experience is a plus, but not required
• Relevant architectural, mechanical, manufacturing, millwork, commercial construction, or similar engineering/design experience will be considered
• Experience working from detailed architectural or engineering plans and specifications
• Ability to understand how drawings and specifications translate into fabrication, production, and/or installation
• Microvellum experience preferred, but not required
• Bluebeam experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
• Familiarity with LEED, FSC, FGI, and AWI guidelines is a plus
• Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail, focus, and accuracy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
