Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a Mechanical Designer on behalf of our client in Mississauga, ON. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for a skilled professional with experience designing sheet metal and metal components using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and production teams to create 3D models, approval drawings, and detailed shop drawings. This position requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain a high standard of quality in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design sheet metal parts and assemblies using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
• Create detailed approval drawings, shop drawings, and 3D models.
• Generate DXF files from customer-supplied STEP files for fabrication.
• Collaborate with production managers and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for fabrication and assembly.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable, efficient, and cost-effective.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications.

Job Experience

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Designer in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes including cutting, bending, rolling, welding, machining, prototyping, and assembly.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Experience creating detailed mechanical drawings and 3D models.

Job Education

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred.
