Position Type: Temp-to-Hire
Compensation: $100,000–$150,000 annually, including base salary + bonus
Travel: Up to 30–40%
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and develop a sales team while driving strategic growth across North American markets. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can develop a strong sales strategy while also actively managing key accounts, developing new business, and supporting the team in achieving revenue goals.
The Sales Manager will oversee a team of approximately 4–7 sales professionals and will be responsible for team performance, key account development, forecasting, sales processes, and overall market expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, motivate, and develop a sales team of 4–7 employees to consistently achieve and exceed sales goals
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies across North American markets
- Manage and grow relationships with major dealers, distributors, and strategic accounts
- Identify new business opportunities and expand the company's presence within target markets
- Establish team KPIs and monitor individual and overall sales performance
- Provide regular sales reporting, forecasts, and performance updates to senior leadership
- Develop a structured sales process from lead generation and qualification through closing and after-sales follow-up
- Accurately forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual sales
- Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, sales data, and customer feedback to identify opportunities
- Partner with product teams to communicate customer and market feedback that can support new product development
- Work with marketing to develop pricing strategies, promotions, and sales programs
- Collaborate with marketing, product, operations, and other internal departments
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and retain high-performing sales professionals
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, customer meetings, field events, and regional sales visits
- Maintain strong relationships with both field-level contacts and executive decision-makers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience
- At least 2 years of sales management or team leadership experience
- Experience managing and developing a sales team
- Proven ability to create sales strategies and translate them into measurable results
- Strong key account management, business development, and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends
- Proficiency with CRM systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar platforms
- Experience with sales reporting, forecasting, and KPI management
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable communicating with customers, sales teams, and C-suite leadership
- Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to coach employees, manage conflict, and maintain a positive team culture
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization
- Willing and able to travel approximately 30–40%
Preferred Experience
Experience within optics, outdoor products, hunting, shooting sports, tactical products, or consumer electronics is strongly preferred.
An established dealer, distributor, or industry network within the outdoor or tactical market is a significant plus.
