Order Picker

Located in Houston, TX

Salary: $16-$17/hr

Warehouse Order Picker- $16-$17

 

A local company in Houston, TX  near the Willowbrook area is searching for an Order Picker to assist in daily company operations. This is a temp-hire position in a fast-paced environment. Interested candidates, please send updated resumes to: Fritzy.Lopez@ExpressPros.com 

        

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm
• Occasional overtime work may arise.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Collecting order notes to fulfill deliveries
• Picking out ordered items from storage shelves or rooms using barcodes, serial numbers, etc.
• Securely shrink-wrapping items before placing them in envelopes or boxes
• Operating handling equipment according to industrial safety regulations
• Loading delivery vehicles
• Updating stock inventory after each item is retrieved
• Managing stock control, including item replenishment and storage
• Performing general warehouse duties as necessary

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, the purchasing department, and outside vendors.
• Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
• Proficient keyboarding skills.
• Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
• Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with computerized inventory systems is required.
• Forklift operator certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
• Must be able to navigate the warehouse and reach items both high and low.
