Position: Building Maintenance Technician

Pay: $17.25 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Location: West Columbia, SC

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable Building Maintenance Technician for a climate-controlled warehouse facility. This is an entry-level, hands-on position responsible for completing general building maintenance projects, repairs, and installations throughout the facility. The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, is comfortable using hand tools, and is not afraid of heights. This is a temporary position with the potential to become temp-to-hire, with work expected through the end of the year.

Responsibilities:

-Complete daily and weekly maintenance tasks assigned by the Facilities Manager.
-Assemble and install equipment, cabinetry, appliances, furniture, and warehouse fixtures.
-Perform general building repairs, including walls, doors, windows, ceilings, flooring, drywall, painting, and minor plumbing.
-Hang warehouse signs, shadow boards, and other facility equipment.
-Safely operate hand tools such as drills, wrenches, and other basic maintenance tools.
-Operate or be trained to operate a scissor lift and forklift as needed.
-Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

-Mechanical aptitude or previous handyman/building maintenance experience preferred.
-Experience using basic hand tools required.
-Comfortable working at heights and using a scissor lift.
-Ability to follow directions and complete assigned projects independently.
-Strong attendance and dependable work ethic.
-Previous warehouse or maintenance experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
-Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching.
-Comfortable working on ladders and scissor lifts.
-Ability to work throughout a warehouse environment.

Work Environment:

-Climate-controlled warehouse
-Day shift
-Temporary badge provided
-Building maintenance only (no equipment maintenance)

Dress Code:

-Steel-toe boots required
-Work pants required
-Safety vest provided by the client

Pre-Employment Requirements:

-Background check required
