Position Purpose: it

This Position is responsible for creating individual parts from scratch, files, or customer drawings. This position requires individuals to work in a fast paced environment utilizing a variety of proprietary software such as: Vacam, Solidworks, Omniwin, Prime Cut, and SigmaNest. A broad technical skill set with a strong expertise in mechanical engineering is required.

Major Responsibilities:

Interfaces with Sales and Production teams on a daily basis

Report any delays or issues specifically involved with drawings details or production nests.

Allocate materials from inventory to nested

Demonstrated ability to operate Google Sheets, Email, Compusource, and other programs necessary. Resolve paperwork issues with Sales and Production Supervisors as required.

Communicates effectively with all departments to resolve technical issues.

Must understand the process flow from Sales Order, Order Entry, CAD, Processing Shop. Critical, analytical, and technical thinking skills are a must.

Experience Required:

3-5 Years in a manufacturing CAD / Drafting Experience. Experience working in the steel service center environment.

Strong mathematical skills

Knowledge of a variety of drafting software.

Ability to work collectively in a team-oriented environment, and be able to learn and share knowledge among team members.

Communication Skills: Must communicate effectively with production supervisors and operators on a regular basis.

Critical Thinking Skills: Will need to devise plans of action and assess those plans regularly

Problem Solving Skills: Be ready when problems arise and anticipate problems before they occur.

Technical Skills: Be competent in computer systems
