Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Machine Operator Assistant to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will support machine operators in the safe and efficient operation of production equipment while helping maintain product quality, workplace safety, and production schedules. Minimum Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read work orders and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist machine operators with machine setup, changeovers, and production runs.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished products.
  • Perform visual and basic quality inspections using measuring tools.
  • Monitor product quality and immediately report defects or equipment issues.
  • Package, label, stack, and prepare finished products for shipment.
  • Remove scrap materials and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance activities as directed.
  • Complete accurate production and quality documentation.
  • Follow all company safety policies, including lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and minimize downtime.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Push, pull, bend, twist, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Comfortable working around industrial machinery and manufacturing equipment.
  • Willingness to work overtime and different shifts as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing or corrugated packaging.
  • Forklift experience or willingness to become forklift certified.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
