We are seeking a compassionate, bilingual Parent Education Technician to support families throughout Klamath and Lake Counties. This position provides education, resources, advocacy, and support to families working toward greater stability and self-sufficiency.
The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about helping others, communicates effectively in both English and Spanish, and can build trusting relationships with families from diverse backgrounds.

What You'll Do
As a Parent Education Technician, you will work directly with families in office, community, and home settings. Responsibilities include:
- Provide bilingual support and services to Spanish-speaking families.
- Connect families with community resources, social services, and other programs.
- Conduct family development assessments to identify strengths, barriers, goals, and available resources.
- Provide individualized case management and support to help families work toward personal and family goals.
- Teach parenting and life-skills education through individual mentoring and group classes.
- Develop and deliver parenting classes, workshops, and trainings.
- Adapt educational materials and curriculum to meet the needs of participants.
- Advocate for and empower parents and families.
- Provide translation services for applicants, participants, and community members as needed.
- Collaborate with community partners, government agencies, and other service providers.
- Assist families with applications and provide accurate referrals to appropriate resources.
- Participate in outreach events and community activities.
- Provide general office support, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing applications, and responding to emails and voicemails.
- Maintain accurate and confidential participant records.
- Provide compassionate, trauma-informed customer service.
- De-escalate challenging situations while maintaining a calm, respectful, and professional approach.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all program and organizational requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Fluent in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Postsecondary education preferred.
- Three years of relevant or related work experience preferred/required.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to approach sensitive situations with empathy, patience, cultural awareness, and respect.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to learn new computer systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working in social services, education, case management, family support, community services, or a related field is highly valued.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Current auto insurance.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel to locations throughout Klamath and Lake Counties.
- Successful criminal background check.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and sign a confidentiality agreement.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and move throughout the workday.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
