Manufacturing Technician 

Location: On-site
Schedule: D Shift, Thursday-Saturday and every other Wednesday, 5:00 PM to 5:15 AM
Assignment Length: Approximately 6 Months

Opportunity Overview

We are seeking motivated individuals interested in developing their technical skills and gaining hands-on experience in a Manufacturing Technician role. This temporary assignment is designed as a training opportunity for employees who aspire to advance into technician positions in the future.

In this role, you will help sustain high-volume production, troubleshoot equipment and process issues, support continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with Production and Engineering teams. You will work with advanced manufacturing technologies used in the production of semiconductor, optical, and fiber-coupled components.

Upon completion of the assignment, employees will return to their previous position and base rate of pay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support the operation of automated manufacturing equipment to ensure quality, throughput, and utilization goals are achieved.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and communicate findings and recommended solutions.
  • Collect and document production and equipment data.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, calibrations, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Partner with Engineering to support process development, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment uptime, safety, ergonomics, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Support the training and certification of production personnel.
  • Assist with manufacturing builds and production activities to meet business objectives.
  • Follow established procedures, work instructions, and OCAPs to resolve production issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts using tools and methodologies such as SPC, DOE, Gage R&R, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 6 months' experience as an MSIII or at least 1 year of experience in a high-volume production environment involving electronics, semiconductor equipment, opto-mechanical assemblies, or similar manufacturing operations.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment and production processes.
  • Experience using common hand tools and test equipment such as multimeters.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret sketches, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures.
  • Commitment to teamwork, safety, and quality.

Compensation

Starting pay is based on qualifications and experience:

  • Manufacturing Technician I: $22.37 - $27.00 per hour
  • Manufacturing Technician II: $23.67 - $28.00 per hour
