Express Employment Professionals of West Seneca is partnering with a great local company that is located in the Cheektowaga area to recruit Equipment Technician. 

 

 

1st shift 8am,-4:30pm. Monday to Friday.

$26 - $29/ hour based on experience.

 

Equipment Technician Job Description:

In this role you will install, maintain, and repair machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Diagnose malfunctions, conduct preventive maintenance, calibrate systems, and maintain detailed service logs. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical or technical expertise

 

Core Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough inspections and use diagnostic tests or manufacturer manuals to identify the root cause of engine, transmission, brake, and hydraulic issues.
• Preventative Maintenance (PM): Execute scheduled maintenance tasks (e.g., lubricating parts, changing fluids, checking tire wear) to prevent unexpected breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
• Repairs: Dismantle equipment to remove worn or broken parts; repair or rebuild components like mast assemblies, drive axles, and electrical boards.
• Safety & Compliance: Inspect repaired forklifts and safety devices to ensure optimal, hazard-free operation.
• Record Keeping: Complete service orders, track parts inventory, and log maintenance history to meet ISO and company standards.

Key Requirements & Skills

• Education: High school diploma or GED; vocational or trade school certifications (automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment) are highly preferred.
• Experience: Typically requires 2+ years of hands-on experience as a mechanic (forklift, heavy equipment, or automotive).
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of 12V and 24V electrical systems, hydraulic schematics, and internal combustion engines.
• Physical & Work Environment: Must be able to lift heavy components (up to 50 lbs), bend, stand for long periods, and work in varied indoor/outdoor industrial environments.
• Tools: Usually required to supply own standard set of hand and diagnostic tools.
