Express Pros of West Seneca has partnered with a great company in the Lancaster area to fill an immediate need for Tube Preparation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on mechanical ability and an interest in hydraulic systems.

 

 

Position Summary

The Tube Preparation Technician is responsible for preparing metal tubing for fabrication and assembly by accurately measuring, cutting, deburring, bending, cleaning, and labeling tubing according to engineering drawings and customer specifications. This position plays a key role in ensuring high-quality tube assemblies while maintaining safety, efficiency, and production standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, and prepare steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other tubing materials according to work orders and engineering specifications.
• Deburr, clean, chamfer, and inspect tubing to ensure proper fit and quality.
• Operate tube saws, deburring equipment, tube benders, and other fabrication machinery safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, technical drawings, and bills of materials.
• Verify tubing dimensions using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Identify and label prepared tubing for production or assembly.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure compliance with customer and company standards.
• Maintain accurate production records and complete work orders.
• Assist with inventory management by organizing tubing stock and notifying supervisors of material shortages.
• Keep equipment and work areas clean, organized, and maintained.
• Follow all company safety policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Support other fabrication and assembly operations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing, fabrication, machine operation, or warehouse experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools.
• Ability to accurately read tape measures and use precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and written work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience preparing hydraulic tubing or fluid power components.
• Experience operating tube cutting and tube bending equipment.
• Familiarity with hydraulic fittings, tube fittings, and tubing specifications.
• Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards and inspection procedures.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Manual dexterity to handle tubing, fittings, and fabrication tools.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing or warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
