Accounting Manager

Full-Time Evaluation-to-Hire

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a full-time Accounting Manager in Chiloquin with an opportunity to become a permanent member of our client’s team.

We are looking for an experienced accounting professional who can take ownership of the day-to-day accounting functions and confidently manage the full accounting cycle. This is a hands-on position for someone who understands accounting beyond data entry and can identify discrepancies, complete reconciliations, manage month-end close, and provide accurate financial information to management.

What You’ll Do

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, deposits, journal entries, accruals, fixed assets, inventory and month-end close
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting schedules
• Complete bank, credit card, cash, merchant processing and clearing account reconciliations
• Reconcile daily sales, deposits and other high-volume transactions
• Work with QuickBooks Online and integrated point-of-sale/accounting systems
• Import and reconcile payroll activity and payroll liabilities
• Review and correct discrepancies, duplicate transactions and account coding issues
• Maintain accurate vendor records and supporting documentation
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements and supporting schedules
• Analyze variances and explain financial results to management
• Maintain organized accounting procedures and documentation
• Work with management, CPA, auditors and other partners as needed

What We’re Looking For

• At least 5 years of progressively responsible accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Previous experience as an Accounting Manager, Full-Charge Bookkeeper, Senior Accountant or similar role
• Strong understanding of the complete accounting cycle
• Experience independently completing reconciliations, journal entries and month-end close
• Strong QuickBooks Online skills
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups and pivot tables
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
• Ability to research discrepancies and trace transactions back to their source
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain accounting information clearly
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

• High-volume retail, fuel, convenience store, hospitality or similar operations
• Payroll accounting
• Inventory accounting
• Fleet-card or merchant processing
• Point-of-sale/back-office accounting systems
• Fixed assets and depreciation
• External audits or CPA review
