Night Shift Haul Truck Driver / Construction Equipment Operator

Pay: $21–$23 per hour
Shift: Overnight, 5:00 p.m.–5:00 a.m.

We are hiring a dependable Night Shift Haul Truck Driver / Construction Equipment Operator to support construction and material-handling projects in the [City, State] area. This position is ideal for a safety-minded candidate with experience operating trucks or heavy equipment in construction, mining, quarry, aggregate or industrial environments.

The operator will transport equipment and materials, complete required vehicle inspections and assist with general jobsite duties. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors, performing physical tasks and following OSHA and MSHA safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate assigned trucks and heavy equipment.
• Transport, load and unload equipment or construction materials.
• Complete documented pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain accurate daily mileage and vehicle logs.
• Monitor vehicle gauges and operating conditions.
• Help ensure that transported materials meet quality requirements.
• Perform minor equipment servicing and routine maintenance.
• Report mechanical, safety or operational concerns promptly.
• Keep the assigned truck clean, organized and ready for operation.
• Follow traffic laws, jobsite rules and supervisor instructions.
• Comply with OSHA, MSHA and all applicable workplace safety procedures.
• Use eye contact, hand signals and other approved communication methods while backing or working near other employees.
• Help train less-experienced employees in safe equipment operation, servicing and fueling.
• Perform general construction labor when needed.
• Complete additional duties assigned by jobsite supervision.

Qualifications

• Previous construction, mining, quarry, aggregate, hauling or heavy-equipment experience is preferred.
• Ability to safely operate a haul truck or similar construction equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to safety, equipment condition and product quality.
• Professional and courteous attitude toward coworkers, supervisors and customers.
• Ability to perform physical work, including loading or unloading materials by hand or shovel when required.
• Reliable attendance and availability for overnight work.
• Valid employment-eligibility documentation required for Form I-9.

Employment Requirements

Selected candidates must successfully complete:

• A pre-employment drug screening
• A criminal background check, as permitted by applicable law
• A pre-employment “Fit for Work” physical

Schedule

Overnight shifts run from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Project schedules may include weekdays and weekends. Assigned workdays, overtime expectations and rotation details will be discussed during the hiring process.
