Our client is a well-established Hamilton-based manufacturing facility specializing in custom CNC machining and the repair and manufacturing of parts used within the steel industry.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced CNC Mill Machinist to their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who enjoys working in a clean, organized, team-oriented environment and has strong experience with custom CNC machining and Mastercam programming.

The successful candidate will join a team of approximately eight CNC machinists, with the company continuing to grow its machining department.

What You'll Be Doing

• Set up and operate CNC milling equipment for custom and production machining
• Create, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs using Mastercam
• Develop programs independently based on drawings and machining requirements
• Machine custom components and replacement parts for the steel industry
• Read and interpret detailed blueprints and technical drawings
• Accurately measure and inspect completed parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision measuring equipment
• Perform milling operations while maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards
• Complete machine setups, tool changes, offsets, and adjustments as required
• Inspect finished components to ensure they meet specifications
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Work collaboratively with the machining and production team

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a CNC Mill Machinist
• Strong experience with Mastercam
• Ability to independently create CNC programs
• Strong CNC mill setup and operation experience
• Experience with custom machining
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Strong knowledge of precision measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers
• Experience working with both milling and lathe equipment is considered an asset
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
• Reliable and safety-conscious work ethic

 

429A certification is NOT required.
