Milling Assistant/Flaker (2nd Shift)

 

Location: Grand Forks, ND
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM
Pay: $22 – $25 per hour

Position Summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Mill Assistant to join a leading grain processing facility in Grand Forks. In this role, you'll support daily milling operations, including grain cleaning, processing, packaging, and bulk loading while ensuring products meet quality and food safety standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing or food production experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust milling equipment to maintain production specifications.
• Assist with grain cleaning, processing, packaging, labeling, and staging products for shipment.
• Perform quality testing according to customer and company specifications.
• Complete cleaning and sanitation of the mill, flaker room, and production areas to meet food safety requirements.
• Assist with scheduled maintenance and document production and maintenance activities.
• Execute mill changeovers based on production schedules.
• Communicate production and maintenance information with other departments.
• Assist with training team members as needed.
• Safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by plant management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
