Salary: $86.600-$106,000

 

We are seeking a Project Engineer for a pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Ayer, MA. This role will lead engineering projects involving manufacturing equipment and utility systems, from installation and startup through troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

 

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects involving manufacturing equipment and plant utility systems.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and startup activities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, PLC, and automation issues.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, quality, contractors, and equipment vendors.
• Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity and reliability.
• Assist with project documentation, technical reports, SOPs, and engineering calculations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or other automated manufacturing environments.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical systems, automation, and PLC troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of plant utilities such as HVAC, compressed air, boilers, steam, cooling systems, or fire protection systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience in aseptic or powder manufacturing is a plus.
