Position Overview

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records while supporting the day-to-day administrative operations of the office. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Maintain accurate financial records and perform data entry
• Enter and reconcile transactions using QuickBooks
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to prepare reports and track financial data
• Process incoming mail and organize business documentation
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Assist with month-end accounting activities
• Maintain organized filing systems and financial records
• Provide general administrative and office support as needed
• Answer phones and assist with customer and vendor inquiries

 

Qualifications

• Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience required
• Proficiency with QuickBooks required
• Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general bookkeeping practices
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional, dependable, and team-oriented

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting accounting functions within private development, municipal, commercial, or industrial environments preferred
• Experience working with project-based accounting or operational reporting is a plus

 

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay: $22.00–$23.00/hour, depending on experience
• Full-time, Monday–Friday
• Contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential
