We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Warehouseman / Forklift Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for the daily operation of forklifts to load and unload trucks, move materials throughout the warehouse and yard, maintain inventory organization, and support shipping and receiving activities. The ideal candidate has experience operating forklifts in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates a strong commitment to workplace safety, efficiency, and accuracy. Pay is $24.00 - $30.00 DOE.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts on a daily basis to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Load and unload delivery trucks, flatbeds, trailers, and customer vehicles efficiently and accurately.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping documents.
- Transport materials to designated warehouse, yard, or production locations.
- Organize, rotate, and store inventory to maximize space utilization and accessibility.
- Inspect loads to ensure proper placement, securement, and compliance with safety standards.
- Perform routine forklift inspections and daily equipment safety checks.
- Identify and report damaged products, inventory discrepancies, equipment issues, or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Keep warehouse and yard areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Follow all company policies, OSHA regulations, and safe material-handling procedures.
- Assist with general warehouse duties and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of forklift operating experience preferred.
- Current forklift certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification.
- Experience loading and unloading trucks, trailers, and customer vehicles.
- Ability to read shipping documents and follow inventory procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb throughout the workday.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment for extended periods.
Salary: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour DOE
