Shop Hand / Rigger

Express Employment Professionals of Longview is currently seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Shop Hand/Rigger to join a growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking for a hands-on role with room to learn new skills and take on exciting challenges.

Pay

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)

Schedule

Monday - Friday
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Summary

The Shop Hand/Rigger will assist with shop operations, material handling, loading and unloading products, and the fabrication of rigging equipment and slings. Training will be provided for rigging and sling assembly; however, candidates must possess strong mechanical aptitude and basic mathematical skills necessary for accurate measurements and calculations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently
• Assist with shipping and receiving operations
• Fabricate and assemble rigging equipment and slings (training provided)
• Read and interpret tape measure measurements accurately
• Convert inches to decimal measurements
• Perform basic math calculations, including adding and subtracting fractions
• Operate a forklift in a safe manner
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Assist with general shop duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure
• Basic geometry and algebra skills
• Ability to add and subtract fractions and convert measurements
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills
• Forklift operating experience preferred
• Shipping and receiving experience is a plus
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials as required
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and safety conscious
