General Fabricator / Machine Setup Operator

Salary: $16.00- per hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable General Fabricator / Machine Setup Operator to join our
manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and
maintaining a variety of fabrication equipment used to produce high-quality precision parts. This
position requires strong mechanical aptitude, fabrication experience, attention to detail, and a
commitment to safety and quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up and operate presses, threading units, saws, grinders, ironworkers, and related fabrication
equipment.
• Select, align, and secure fixtures, tooling, attachments, and materials.
• Calculate and adjust machine settings including speed, feed rate, coolant flow, depth, and cutting
angles.
• Verify dimensions and quality of finished parts.
• Assemble fabricated components and verify alignment.
• Troubleshoot production issues and work with supervisors to resolve them.
• Follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.

Equipment Knowledge & Preventative Maintenance

• Must possess a thorough understanding of all equipment, machine components, tooling, and
operating systems used within the fabrication department.
• Must know all parts of the equipment and be able to identify wear, damage, or operational
concerns.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and minor repairs when
needed.
• Maintain equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.

Qualifications

Strong mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading ability, knowledge of fabrication practices, ability to
work independently and as part of a team, and commitment to quality workmanship.

Education & Experience

Technical school certification preferred or 6 months to 1 year of related fabrication/manufacturing
experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

Regular lifting of up to 60 pounds or more. Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and
standing. Must possess the vision capabilities necessary for precision fabrication work.
