Plant Maintenance Supervisor

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for an immediate opening in Columbia County for a Plant Maintenance Supervisor on an evaluation to hire.
Position Overview:
Responsible for coordinating the activity and working with the maintenance team members.
Responsible for maintaining safety standards among team members and for ensuring that departmentalproductivity and performance objectives are met.
Ensure proper follow-through and communication are maintained across the maintenance team and with the production teams.
Pay: $40.00-$45.00/hr DOE
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist with interviewing and selecting qualified applicants for job openings.
• Train, direct, and evaluate team members as necessary. May make disciplinary recommendations.
• Manages preventive maintenance programs, and ensures all work is properly planned, documented, and executed using company specific software maintenance systems.
• Supervise and manage a small team of employees of between three to five.
• Recognize and ensure compliance of all departmental quality control policies and procedures.
• Know and communicate all OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Ensure team members and self are consistently following these policies.
• Assign daily work, prioritize maintenance activities, and ensure adequate coverage for plant operations.
• Monitor cleanliness and ensure organization of department work and storage areas.
• Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with direct reports as a monthly team meeting.
• Work with the Plant Manager and administrative team to monitor and update inventory levels and systems for general maintenance supplies and parts.
• Accurately estimate down time events in real time and communicate information to the effected parties and management.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulics, electrical and electrical equipment controls.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, aerial lifts – all with required certifications.
• Lead installation of equipment and mechanical line modifications with team of mechanics with guidance and in partnership with the Plant Manager.
• Adhere to proper personal protective equipment (PPE) standards, such as wearing safety glasses, use of hearing and hand protection, and wearing high visibility clothing when required.
• Adhere to all OSHA Safety Standards and company policies such as Lock Out Tag Out.
• Other job duties as assigned.
Job Specification (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
• Demonstrated knowledge of industrial production maintenance operations.
• Ability to use hand and power tools, AC/DC welder, and oxygen/acetylene cutting tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification and safely operate forklifts with various
attachments. Maintain an accident-free record.
• High degree of attention regarding safety requirements to prevent injury to self and others.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and supervisory skills.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhere to
deadlines and work overtime or during off schedule hours to complete duties, handle frequent changes effectively and professionally, follow through on issues in a timely manner.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Root cause analysis and reliability-centered maintenance experience.
• Strong working knowledge of: gearboxes, shafts, bearings, conveyors, belts, and drums,
Industrial electrical systems, motors, HMIs, and VFDs
• Demonstrated ability to work well independently and as part of a team; a self-starter, but not hesitant to ask for directions when needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels with both internal and external partners.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience using industrial manufacturing software and associated preventive maintenance software systems.
• Ability to perform basic math, such as addition and subtraction.
Preferred Education, Certifications and Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of industrial plant maintenance experience, including hands-on mechanical and electrical
work.
• Previous supervisory or lead experience in a maintenance environment.
• Experience in high-volume or continuous-operation manufacturing or recycling environments.
• Complete forklift training class as scheduled by the company.
