Lumper / Container Unloader

Location: Hillside, NJ
Pay: Competitive Hourly Rate (DOE)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday - Friday | Day Shift

Position Overview

We are seeking hardworking and dependable Lumpers / Container Unloaders to join a busy warehouse team in Hillside, NJ. This is a physically demanding position responsible for manually unloading freight from shipping containers and preparing products for warehouse storage and distribution.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy active work and are comfortable performing repetitive lifting throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Manually unload cartons, boxes, and merchandise from ocean containers and trailers

• Move product safely to designated staging or palletizing areas

• Sort, stack, and organize freight according to warehouse procedures

• Build and wrap pallets for storage or shipment

• Verify quantities and inspect products for visible damage

• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards

• Follow warehouse safety procedures and proper lifting techniques

• Assist with additional warehouse duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, lumper, container unloading, or general labor experience preferred

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift

• Comfortable performing continuous physical labor in a fast-paced warehouse environment

• Able to stand, bend, twist, push, pull, and lift for extended periods

• Reliable transportation and strong attendance record

• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

• Forklift experience is a plus, but not required

Physical Requirements

• Continuous lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday

• Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and climbing in and out of containers

• Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures

• Must be capable of safely performing strenuous physical work for an entire shift
