Mule Driver / Yard Dog Operator

Location: North Charleston, SC 29406
Pay: $18.00/hour

Schedule

Monday – Saturday but based on high volume Sunday as well

This position works 12-hour shifts on a rotating monthly schedule based on production needs. Employees typically begin on Day Shift (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM) and then rotate to Night Shift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM) the following month. Candidates must be flexible and available to work both shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required by operations.

Job Duties

• Operate a Yard Mule/Yard Dog to move containers throughout the terminal.
• Transport containers to and from the sea bulk line, scale, and rail areas.
• Inspect containers and verify container numbers before movement.
• Ensure containers are staged and ready for loading operations.
• Assist with railcar connections/disconnections, including hoses, filters, catch pans, jack stands, and blowers.
• Perform equipment inspections and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and assist with other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License (Required)
• Minimum 1 year of Yard Mule/Yard Dog experience (Required)
• CDL Class A (Preferred)
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attendance, reliability, and commitment to safety.

Compensation

$18.00 per hour

Applicants must have at least one year of Yard Mule/Yard Dog experience to be considered.
