Position Summary

The Leasing Consultant is responsible for marketing and leasing apartment homes while delivering exceptional customer service to prospective and current residents. This role serves as the first point of contact for the community, guiding prospects through the leasing process, maintaining resident satisfaction, and supporting property operations to achieve occupancy and revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist prospective residents in person, by phone, and online.
  • Conduct community and apartment tours, highlighting features and amenities.
  • Qualify prospective residents and recommend suitable apartment homes.
  • Process rental applications, verify required documentation, and prepare lease agreements.
  • Maintain accurate leasing records and update property management software.
  • Follow up with prospects to convert leads into signed leases.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with current residents.
  • Respond to resident inquiries and coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure timely resolution of service requests.
  • Assist with lease renewals and resident retention initiatives.
  • Participate in marketing events, outreach activities, and social media efforts to promote the community.
  • Ensure model apartments, clubhouse, and common areas are clean, organized, and show-ready.
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, competitor pricing, and community availability.
  • Comply with Fair Housing laws and all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous leasing, sales, customer service, hospitality, or retail experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and property management software (e.g., Yardi, Entrata, RealPage, or OneSite) preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.
