Responsibilities

This position is responsible for repairs and installation of wiring, motors, transformers, generators, lighting, and other electrical systems. Determines the type and cost of materials required for projects, ensures specifications and drawings are accurate, and reviews projects and plans.

• Repair and maintain supermarket controls and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations
• Knowledge of CO₂ components is a plus
• Operate a variety of electrical testing equipment to locate and diagnose electrical malfunctions
• Study plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and the sequence of repairs and installations
• Repair and maintain high-voltage systems
• Train and supervise apprentices
• Troubleshoot, test, and repair emergency generators, electrical systems, and power distribution systems to ensure proper operation
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience as an electrician
• High school diploma required; trade or technical school coursework preferred
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade
• Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations
• Knowledge of electrical applications for high- and low-voltage systems
• Ability to work effectively with a crew
• Knowledgeable in all aspects of commercial construction industry-related products and tools
• On-call availability required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
