Lead Solar Installer

Salary: $23-$28p/hr
LEAD SOLAR INSTALLER
Pay: $23–$28 per hour, depending on experience
Placement Type: Direct hire
Location: Gainesville/Alachua County
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a solar installation crew
- Coordinate daily job preparation and crew assignments
- Complete roof layouts, racking, attachments, module installation, wiring and conduit assembly
- Read and follow solar installation plans
- Ensure projects are completed safely, accurately and on schedule
- Train and provide direction to crew members
- Communicate project status and jobsite issues to management
- Maintain accountability for tools, equipment, materials and company vehicles
- Complete installation, commissioning and post-project reports
Required Qualifications:
- At least two years of solar installation or electrical experience
- Previous crew-leadership or supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of the NEC
- Ability to read solar installation plans
- Strong organization, communication and time-management skills
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR
- Ability to work safely on rooftops and outdoors in Florida weather
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment physical
Five or more years of solar experience, OSHA 10 and experience leading a crew of four or more are preferred.
TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION
Approximately 90% of projects are within a 30-mile radius of Alachua County. Employees report to company's office and then travel to jobsites in company vehicles.
Solar Impact generally has one or two out-of-town projects each year. These projects are typically within 150 miles but may require overnight stays lasting one to two months. Candidates must understand and accept this possibility.
Employees normally will not use their personal vehicles for jobsite travel. If authorized personal vehicle use is necessary, company reimburses mileage.
