Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Material Handler to support daily warehouse and inventory operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking materials, equipment, and merchandise while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring compliance with company safety standards. This role requires forklift operation and a strong commitment to quality, organization, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, record, store, and distribute merchandise, materials, equipment, and other inventory items from stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards to designated locations.
  • Deploy materials from the receiving dock to stock locations in accordance with department policies, procedures, and verbal instructions.
  • Coordinate the receipt of special incoming materials and equipment with Purchasing, Production, and other departments to ensure timely communication and delivery, preventing material shortages.
  • Support the development and maintenance of proper storage methods, locations, identification systems, and stocking quantities based on inventory turnover, environmental considerations, and facility capabilities.
  • Perform daily cycle counts alongside other material handling personnel to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Label and identify stock items using tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other approved identification methods.
  • Inspect stock, materials, and parts for damage, accuracy, and proper identification; process and return distressed or damaged materials as required.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations and housekeeping standards.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures while maintaining a safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous warehouse, inventory, shipping/receiving, or material handling experience preferred.
  • Valid Forklift Operator Certification and forklift operating license required.
  • Ability to accurately maintain inventory records and perform cycle counts.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple departments.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures and inventory control practices.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely lift and move materials in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment.
