Welding Shop Maintenance Technician
EVALUATION HIRE
$23 - 25 / hr + depending on experience
Day Shift: 6 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Thursday
Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is currently hiring for a Welding Shop Maintenance Technician for a local client in Livingston Parish.
This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of equipment and shop tools to ensure safe and efficient operations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, be self-motivated, and have experience working on industrial equipment, forklifts, trucks, and facility systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES for Welding Shop Maintenance Tech:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on welding shop equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical issues.
- Maintain and repair forklifts, trailers, and 18-wheelers.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, motors, controls, and related equipment.
- Inspect equipment regularly and address maintenance issues before failures occur.
- Maintain shop tools, compressors, generators, and other production equipment.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and document completed repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with operations personnel to minimize equipment downtime.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair experience required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on maintenance experience required.
- Experience working on forklifts, diesel engines, trailers, and heavy equipment preferred.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus..
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial shop environments.
