About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector (Paint/Weld) to join our Quality Assurance team. This role is responsible for inspecting welds, paint finishes, components, and assemblies to ensure they meet engineering specifications, industry standards, and customer expectations.

The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience with welding inspections, industrial coatings, or heavy equipment manufacturing is considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Inspections

  • Perform visual inspections of welds, painted surfaces, components, and assemblies.
  • Verify workmanship, proper assembly, functionality, and compliance with specifications.
  • Review and evaluate quality issues identified during production.
  • Support non-conformance reporting (NCR) processes and corrective action activities.
  • Inspect parts identified as NCR or DMR and complete required follow-up documentation.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure products meet internal quality standards and customer requirements.

Documentation & Administrative Duties

  • Complete inspection records and quality documentation accurately and on time.
  • Support documentation processes to ensure deficiencies are corrected, retested, and approved before returning parts to production.
  • Maintain organized quality records and reports.

Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Management teams to resolve quality concerns.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.
  • Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to improve processes and product quality.

Education

  • High school diploma (Grade 12) required.
  • Additional coursework, certification, or training related to Quality Assurance, Welding, Manufacturing, or Inspection is an asset.

Experience

  • Previous Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial or automotive paint systems is an asset.
  • Familiarity with welding processes and welded assemblies is an asset.
  • Experience working with heavy equipment or industrial manufacturing environments is considered an asset.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in an industrial manufacturing shop and yard environment.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, machinery, and varying weather conditions.
  • Physical requirements include standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working around large equipment.
  • CSA-approved safety footwear and suitable work clothing are required.
  • Company-provided PPE must be worn at all times as required.
