Construction Custodian

Reports To: Site Supervisor or Site Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking dependable Construction Custodians to maintain a clean, safe, and organized construction site. This position plays a critical role in supporting construction operations by ensuring work areas, common spaces, and facilities remain clean, hazard-free, and compliant with safety standards.

MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION!

Open availability is required. Candidates must be flexible to work varying shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Site Safety & Compliance

• Identify and report safety hazards, security concerns, and maintenance issues.
• Follow all company, site, and OSHA safety regulations.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and appropriate work attire.
• Maintain secure work areas and adhere to site access procedures.
• Communicate equipment, supply, and operational needs to supervisors.

Cleaning & Site Maintenance

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and work areas.
• Dust and clean surfaces, fixtures, and equipment.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
• Sanitize common areas such as hallways, stairwells, and elevators.
• Clean up construction debris and assist with site organization.
• Properly use and store approved cleaning supplies and chemicals.
• Follow established cleaning and cross-contamination prevention procedures.

Team Support

• Provide courteous assistance to site personnel, contractors, and visitors.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members.
• Maintain a professional attitude and strong attendance record.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Brooms, mops, and dustpans
• Commercial vacuums and shop vacuums
• Trash carts and waste containers
• Cleaning tools and sanitation equipment
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, construction cleaning, or related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive motion.
• Ability to work in outdoor construction environments and varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
