Our client is seeking a safety-focused and mechanically inclined apprentice who is eager to gain hands-on experience maintaining industrial equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced tradespeople while developing your skills with modern manufacturing equipment and preventative maintenance programs.

What You'll Do

As a Millwright Apprentice, you will support the maintenance team by performing preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of industrial equipment while ensuring a safe and efficient operation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and industrial machinery.
• Assist with diagnosing equipment failures and identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance.
• Perform emergency and scheduled maintenance as required.
• Read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics.
• Work with PLC-controlled machinery and automated production equipment.
• Complete work orders accurately and maintain detailed maintenance records.
• Follow manufacturer specifications and internal maintenance procedures.
• Maintain compliance with all Health & Safety policies, environmental regulations, and company procedures.
• Participate in equipment lockout/tagout procedures, hazard identification, and emergency response activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

What We're Looking For

• Currently registered as a 443A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Apprentice.
• Completed approximately 1-3 years of apprenticeship hours.
• In-class apprenticeship training completed to date is considered a strong asset.
• Registered with Skilled Trades Ontario.
• Previous experience maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems; exposure to PLC-controlled equipment is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings.
• Comfortable working rotating day and night shifts (8-12 hour shifts).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other maintenance software is an asset.
• Committed to maintaining a safe workplace and following all health and safety procedures.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
