Lab Technician/Sampler - LaPlace , LA - D204

We are seeking a dependable Lab Technician/Sampler 

In this hands-on role, you'll collect petroleum coke and coal samples for laboratory analysis, operate and maintain sampling equipment, and ensure accurate documentation while working in a safety-focused industrial environment. If you're mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and enjoy working independently, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

• Collect petroleum coal and coke samples using both manual and mechanical sampling methods
• Operate, inspect, and maintain mechanical sampling equipment
• Properly label and document all samples for laboratory testing
• Prepare, reduce, and divide samples for analysis
• Complete required paperwork accurately and on time
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, sampling systems, and equipment
• Follow all company safety policies, including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• Identify workplace hazards and perform work safely
• Report safety concerns, incidents, and equipment issues to the Site Manager
• Communicate regularly with management regarding job progress and any operational concerns
• Participate in required safety and job-related training

What We're Looking For

• Previous field sampling experience is a plus
• Degree in relevant field
• Experience with equipment maintenance, power tools, or industrial equipment is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the previous two years
• Ability to operate a company vehicle
• Current TWIC Card required
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, crawl, and climb stairs, ladders, and stockpiles
• Lift and carry up to 30 pounds
• Push, pull, shovel, and scrape materials
• Work on uneven surfaces and around industrial equipment
• Work over or near water
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures

Schedule

• Full-time hourly position
• Rotation-based schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Overtime and occasional travel may be required
