Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing and packaging equipment in a fast-paced production environment. This position is responsible for troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring equipment reliability to minimize downtime and support production goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on production and packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and related machinery.
• Inspect equipment to identify wear, safety concerns, and potential failures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection reports accurately.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and continuous improvement projects.
• Collaborate with production personnel to maximize equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Follow all company safety procedures, GMP standards, and maintenance best practices.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, and conveyors.
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing and packaging equipment.
• Basic welding, fabrication, and machining skills preferred.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Understanding of preventative maintenance programs and safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around moving machinery and in varying production environments.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and emergency call-ins as needed.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a food-grade manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of automated production equipment.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Schedule

• Full-time
• Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production needs.
