Hardware Sales & Stocking Associate

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Hardware Sales & Stocking Associate for a local client!

Are you a customer-focused individual who enjoys helping people, staying active, and working in a fast-paced retail environment? We are seeking a dependable and friendly Hardware Sales & Stocking Associate to join a local hardware store team. This role combines customer service, sales support, stocking, merchandising, and general store maintenance to create an excellent experience for customers.

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge customers promptly with friendly and professional service.
• Assist customers with projects, product selection, and problem-solving by providing knowledgeable recommendations.
• Accurately complete sales transactions and returns using the point-of-sale system.
• Assist customers with assembling orders, bagging purchases, and carrying merchandise to vehicles.
• Share information on current sales, promotions, and featured products.
• Direct customers to proper pickup areas in the yard when needed.
• Communicate professionally and effectively in person and over the phone.
• Stock, organize, and inventory merchandise as directed.
• Ensure products are clean, well-merchandised, and properly displayed.
• Assist with pricing, tagging, and in-store signage.
• Maintain a clean and organized store through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing floors, and general housekeeping.
• Assist with grounds maintenance as assigned.
• Monitor for theft and help maintain a safe shopping environment.
• Follow all store policies, procedures, and promotions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including making keys, mixing paint, and assisting in the greenhouse.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Retail, hardware, home improvement, or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and load merchandise into customer vehicles as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and willing to learn new skills.
• Comfortable working flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends as needed.
