Monday through Friday - 8am to 5pm
Busy manufacturing company, specializing in plating for the aerospace and aircraft overhaul industries, is looking for a Non-Destructive Test Specialist Level II to join their team in Sun Valley.
Summary: The NDT Specialist Level II is responsible for performing, evaluating, documenting, and certifying nondestructive testing (NDT) inspections in accordance with NAS 410, applicable customer specifications, FAA requirements, Nadcap accreditation requirements, and company procedures. The Level II Specialist is qualified to set up and calibrate equipment, perform examinations, interpret and evaluate inspection results, prepare inspection records, and provide technical guidance to Level I personnel under the direction of the Responsible Level III. These responsibilities are consistent with typical NAS 410 Level II roles.
Responsibilities:
- Perform nondestructive testing using approved procedures and techniques.
- Conduct inspections utilizing one or more of the following methods:
- Fluorescent Liquid Penetrant Inspection (FPI/PT)
- Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI/MT)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT) (if certified)
- Eddy Current Testing (ET) (if certified)
- Radiographic Testing (RT) (if certified)
- Visual Inspection (VT)
- Set up, calibrate, standardize, and verify NDT equipment prior to use.
- Perform system performance checks before each inspection.
- Review work orders, travelers, drawings, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Interpret inspection results and evaluate indications against applicable specifications.
- Accept or reject parts based upon approved engineering and customer requirements.
- Complete all inspection records accurately and legibly.
- Maintain complete traceability of inspected products.
- Verify material identification and job documentation.
- Maintain inspection logs and certification records.
- Ensure inspection equipment remains within calibration.
- Verify UV intensity, white light intensity, bath contamination, and system performance (PT/MT).
- Segregate and identify nonconforming material.
- Initiate Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) when required.
- Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical school or college coursework in Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering preferred.
- Must possess or be eligible for employer certification as NAS 410 Level II in one or more of the following methods:
- PT (Liquid Penetrant), MT (Magnetic Particle), UT, ET, RT.
- Certification shall be maintained in accordance with the employer's NAS 410 Written Practice.
- Minimum documented classroom training and experience hours required by the employer's NAS 410 Written Practice.
- Two or more years of aerospace manufacturing or repair experience preferred.
- Experience with FAA Repair Stations, aerospace manufacturing, or Nadcap-accredited facilities preferred.
