Position Summary

We are hiring a 2nd Shift Sanitation Associate to support the sanitation program at a food manufacturing facility in Barron, WI.

This is a dedicated sanitation position and does not involve working on the production line. The primary responsibility of this role will be washing and sanitizing cheese racks from the smoke room each day. Once the daily cheese rack cleaning is completed, the associate will perform additional sanitation and cleaning duties throughout the facility for the remainder of the shift.

This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, comfortable with hands-on cleaning work, and committed to maintaining high standards for cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize cheese racks from the smoke room daily

• Clean and sanitize designated areas of the production facility and production equipment

• Perform additional sanitation duties as assigned after daily cheese rack cleaning is completed

• Perform basic equipment breakdowns as needed to allow for thorough cleaning and sanitation

• Start and stop machinery as required to ensure proper cleaning is completed according to GMP standards

• Safely handle and apply cleaning chemicals according to established procedures

• Maintain sanitation equipment, tools, and cleaning supplies

• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation procedures, and workplace safety guidelines

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment

• Work efficiently and accurately while maintaining attention to detail throughout the shift

• Complete other sanitation duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• Entry-level candidates are welcome to apply

• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment

• Ability to follow sanitation, health, safety, and hygiene procedures

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

• Ability to work efficiently and maintain concentration for extended periods

• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic

Preferred

• Previous manufacturing, sanitation, industrial cleaning, or food production experience

• Familiarity with GMP standards or food manufacturing sanitation procedures

• Experience safely working with cleaning chemicals

• Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment and equipment functions

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Ability to lift and move 40+ pounds

• Ability to twist, squat, bend, and reach above shoulder level

• Ability to perform repetitive, hands-on sanitation and cleaning tasks throughout the shift

• Ability to work in a food manufacturing sanitation environment
