Salary: $55k - $60k Annually DOE

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant for a local accounting firm.

Description

Staff accountant works under the supervision of a supervisor, manager or partner as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex tax returns and special projects as needed

• Administrative duties such as maintaining schedules, providing telephone support, production and filing of forms.

• Interacting with clients to discuss their financial matters, such as discussions regarding information needed to prepare the tax returns or financial statements as deemed appropriate by their supervisor.

• General bookkeeping needs including preparing journal entries for clients.

• Understanding and use of tax software, electronic filing system, analytical/data mining software and other software as deemed appropriate by their supervisor.

Experience and Education Required

• Accounting Degree or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of federal and state taxation
• Experience reviewing tax returns
