Job Description

 

As a CNC Set-Up Operator, you'll be a key part of the fabrication process, responsible for setting up and operating HAAS CNC milling and router machines. This role involves more than just machine operation; you will also provide one-on-one guidance to other operators and serve as a positive role model for our company's values and culture.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Set up and operate various fabrication equipment, including HAAS CNC Mills and Routers, Amada Turret Punches, Cincinnati Press Brakes, and Schelling Panel Saws.

• Follow program setup sheets to set up flat, vise, angle plate, and vacuum hold-down work.

• Make adjustments to tooling, speeds, feeds, and programs to ensure optimal performance.

• Manufacture complex parts based on customer orders, work orders, and blueprints.

• Maintain safe operations by following all safety procedures and regulations.

• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.

• Document actions and communicate with incoming shifts to ensure a smooth transition.

• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts using lean manufacturing principles.

 

Qualifications

 

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC equipment in a manufacturing environment.

• Advanced math, measuring, and blueprint reading skills are required.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Experience with HAAS and Fanuc Controls is a plus.

• Solid understanding of G & M codes, with the ability to read and troubleshoot programs at the machine.

• High school diploma or GED with relevant vocational or job-related training is required.
